The jail is not located at the courthouse but is located at the Wake County Detention Center located at 3301 Hammond Road Raleigh, NC 27610. Another facility is located at the Joh H. Baker, Jr. Public Safety Center located at 330 S. Salisbury St. in downtown Raleigh. The two facilities have a total bed capacity of 1,568 and about 425 full and part-time staff that provide security, supervision, and health care. Private vendors operate the Food and Commissary Services.
